Press Release
The top models of the Audi TT Coupé and Roadster can now be ordered with a 6 speed manual gearbox. The combination of the powerful 184 kW (250 bhp) 3.2 litre engine with the sports-ratio 6-speed gearbox impressively highlights the dynamic driving qualities of the four-wheel-drive TT. The short, high-precision gearshifts enable the driver to accelerate with gusto up through all six gears. The price in Germany is € 39,500 for the TT Coupé 3.2 quattro and € 42,300 for the TT Roadster 3.2 quattro. The source of the power is the compact 3.2-litre V6 engine. Technical details such as continuously adjustable inlet and exhaust camshafts and the variable intake manifold give the six-cylinder engine superior torque and power output, coupled with low emissions. The engine delivers a broad peak-torque range with a maximum value of 320 Nm from 2,800 to 3,200 rpm, and responds forcefully to every movement of the accelerator. The closely-spaced 6-speed manual gearbox ensures that the engine's torque and revving ability are always exploited to the full. The passage between the gears always produces typically slick sports car performance. The 250 bhp Audi TT Coupé 3.2 quattro sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, and the top speed is gently governed at 250 km/h. The overall fuel consumption is 10.6 litres per 100 km. A 17-inch dual-piston brake system assures an appropriate braking performance. There are floating-caliper brakes with ventilated 334 millimetre brake discs at the front. The rear wheels are fitted with a floating-caliper brake system again with 265-millimetre ventilated brake discs. In common with all other TT models, the 3.2 quattro has ESP with integral brake assist. The TT 3.2 quattro comes as standard with 7.5Jx17 inch wheels of 6-arm wing design, with 225/45 tyres. There are also two additional 17-inch and three 18-inch wheels of various designs available as optional extras. The top model of the TT range also makes its dynamism visibly apparent. The front apron, with subtle ventilation slots at the sides, has been aerodynamically optimised. It now incorporates larger inlet apertures to admit the higher volume of cooling air now required. Distinctive features of the tail end include the modified rear spoiler and a honeycomb-pattern diffusor trim. The TT 3.2 quattro in addition has xenon lights as standard with range control and titanium-coloured headlight trims. On the TT Roadster 3.2 quattro, the electro-hydraulic hood is a standard equipment feature. The new versions with 6-speed manual gearbox round off the range of TT Coupé and Roadster 3.2 quattro versions with the revolutionary Direct Shift Gearbox DSG.Related Content
