Text originally published 11/23/06 Pre-production of the next generation Mercedes C-Class is underway in Daimler-Chrysler's Bremen plant. The sedan is the first to be released at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show this spring. The matching station wagon will follow about half a year later in fall 2007. Altogether it will be a completely new model range offering standard RWD and AWD as an option. The car will grow to 4,58 meters in overall length and 4 more centimetres in width. Code-named W 204, the C Class will be available in four different styles, as sedan, station wagon, sports coupe and convertible. Power will come again from a variety of four- and newly developed six- cylinder engines. A sporty AMG version is in the pipeline, too. These latest photos are showing a station wagon without any disguise (computer generated photo) and two prototypes with some disguise. One test car returns to the factory after a hard day of work in the mud. Another photo is showing a sedan, also undisguised (very few strips of tape were removed by computer) and another prototype including a close-up of the front end.
