When the new generation Volkswagen Gol was introduced, it was the biggest Brazilian presentation of the year. Not because this small hatch had been the best-seller for more than 20 years , it was huge because a whole new family was going to follow it. Besides the hatchback variant, a sedan, pick-up truck and SUV are expected to appear.

The first in line is the sedan version of the car. It is expected to debut in South America's biggest auto show, the Sao Paulo Motor Show in October and ahead of its launch Volkswagen have released the first and only image of the model.

Previous sedan versions of the Gol were named Voyage in Brazil, Senda and Gacel in other South American countries and Fox in the USA. Although these names seem to be obvious choices, the official name of the car is yet to be disclosed, possibly to keep some mystery ahead of its public presentation.

what a load of crap! i HATE VW! their designers are the worst on earth. even the Scirocco is utter trash. Sports coupe? more like 3 door family hatchback!! from Phaeton to Fox, they suck.

vw own lots of companies, lamborghini bugatti audi and i forgotten the rest but even so, without vw, the veyron would never have been made. nearly £4m is lost through making the veyron that only vw can afford. praise for vw

looks spiffy!!!! Good job VW!! You truly are "The People's Car".

WCF, can you find the new Jetta design? I am assuming it is going to resemble this look, but a little sportier. I am really anxious to see it!

Keep up the great work VW. Beat those Toyota bums to a pulp and be number 1 in the world again!

that blue car destined for China is a whole lot good-looking than this limp-dick exercise .

by THERENAISSANCEMAN | August 22, 2008 6:00 PM
the gol is a much smaller car than the lavida for the chinese market.

The new Jetta aint gonna resemble any Gol cause Gol is totally made for poorer countries. They have even spared money in the name by takin the f away, ha. But seriously the GOl looks more like th old Jetta so i think it goes the other way around.
