Last week Audi gave us the first official images and details of the new RS6 Sedan ahead of its planned debut at the Paris Motor Show in October. It follows the first variant of the range, the Avant which was first shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year. The front end of the new model remains identical to its sibling whereas the rear end styling mimics the design already seen on the A4 and recently revealed A6 facelift.

The same 5.0-liter Twin-Turbo V10 engine from the Avant makes it to the sedan variant producing 580 hp (426 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque, it is mated to a six-speed tiptronic automatic transmission system and power is passed to all four wheels via Audi's permanent all-wheel drive system.

Thanks to its power-to-weight ratio of just 3.4kg per HP, it enables the RS6 to boast supercar performance. The Sedan sprints from 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds, shading an extra 0.1 seconds off the Avant's time, top speed is electronically limited at 250km/h (155mph) although consumers have an option to raise this to 280 km/h (174 mph).

Check out the video for a nice clip from the studio detailing the styling of the new model.

I never thought I would say that, for the first time in RS history I think the saloon looks much better!

I thought the RS4 B7 looked way better than the RS4 B7 Avant, and the previous RS6 looked better in sedan too.

Best hi-power sedan ever! But now I think that AMG and M will kick back! Definately in the similar way! New M5 will be V8 twin turbo with around 590hp and new AMG E-class will be called E63 AMG with V8 Kompressor letters on side...I think you know what that means! It would be the succesor of the 5.4L V8 Supercharged...Now the new one will produce around 600HP at least, it could do easily more but there it will compete with 6.0L V12 AMG in terms od power! So then the only advantage of the RS6 will be Quattro in bad weather....in performance it will be again 3rd of those three! Well for now is also the prettiest....but new E-class is comnig....for the BMW 5-series I do not believe that they are capable of building a good looking car!
