Toyota will be using the Paris Motor Show that commences at the beginning of October to unveil three very important new models. The first of these models and arguably the most anticipated will be the all-new 2009 Avensis, the brands flagship model for Europe. It features a design described as both sleek and athletic giving it a strong dynamic character, from the initial rear 3/4 shot of the D-segment model released we can see it clearly follows in the footsteps of the current Avensis. An enhanced level of equipment, higher quality and a reduction in CO2 emissions will see this model continue its strong position in the market against rivals such as the Ford Mondeo, Mazda6 and Renault Laguna.

Alongside the European flagship, Toyota will also unveil the full production versions of the IQ and Urban cruiser which follow the pre-production prototypes that were unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.

The IQ will be the world's smallest 4-seater premium car, CO2 emissions will emit just 99g/km and will feature a number of new safety features including the world’s first rear window curtain shield airbags. Meanwhile the 1.4-litre D-4D diesel All Wheel Drive (AWD) Urban Cruiser will boast CO2 emissions of just 133g/km, not a bad figure for the urban all-roader.

Full details on all three models will be released closer to their debuts in Paris.

What is it with Toyotas they just seem to get uglier & uglier

It is sad that bad design has to dominate our roadways. I'll bet the typical bad Toyota seating position remains, as well.

i don't get it?? it looks ok lol the avensis i mean.

i don't know, but it seems that everybody hates Toyota, saying they got ugly cars, complaining about the Prius..., i find these trio more then ok, and i find that Toyota is going the right direction(ok, it's not an Alfa, but it's no worser then Peugeot, Opel, Volkswagen,...(you don't have to compare Toyota to Bmw or MB, they have Lexus for that), and the thing is when you buy a Toyota you know you have a car for ten years minimum.

Toyota's are an acquired taste..!!!

You'll get that taste when you reach the average age of Toyota owners... umm, about 70yo :)

by BabyMilo | September 2, 2008 12:15 AM
@Babymilo i see also taxi signs on MB E & S classes, also on BMW 5 & 7 series, so what's your point? that it is a reliable car? then i agree with you!!!

No mush class, no mistakes neither idiotic exhaust pipes Hi, Toyota!

by alessandro | September 2, 2008 6:53 PM
finally! good looking toyotas. and for those who only like german bricks or italian beauties, leave some space for the good looking ones that don´t live on the past glories!!!!

by racsozelev | September 2, 2008 7:39 PM
No, I like Mazdas, Hondas, Nissans, but Toyota’s...? From experience, most steer & handle really badly (with a couple of exceptions), or certainly below class average.

Even the up-and-coming Koreans are producing better handling cars than Toyota!
