Audi 2009 TT-S Coupe and Roadster US Prices Announced
Audi of America have released pricing for their 2009 TT-S Coupe and Roadster - the highest-performing TT models ever brought to market. Starting at $45,500 and $47,500 for Coupe and Roadster versions respectively, the new additions represent 'exceptional value' for a 'genuine sports car'.
Topping out the TT range, the TT-S versions build upon the engineering excellence of their lesser models, taking the TT line-up's most powerful engine and combining it with a plethora of newly-standard technology, namely permenant quattro four-wheel-drive, S tronic dual clutch transmission and a tailored Audi magnetic ride system for enhanced driver control.
Technical highlights are primarily delivered via the model's ultra-efficient TFSI engine. The direct-injection 265 hp 2.0-litre engine enables class-leading acceleration, the TT-S Coupe racing to 60 mph from standstill in 4.9 seconds and the Roadster in just 5.1s. Fuel economy ticks over at 24 mpg for both Coupe and Roadster, the latter resulting in a class-leading statistic. An electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph can be achieved regardless of guise.
As with all 'S-Line' Audi models, a range of exclusivities come packaged. A generous array of additional specification as well as distinctive features exclusive to the TT-S are included, with badging, alloys, a new instrument cluster, Alcantara sports seats, leather multifunction steering wheel and a brushed aluminium cabin being among the exclusive additions.
Sales are set to begin late this year, at which point, as Johan de Nysschen, executive vice president of Audi of America, explains, "consumers will quickly discover that TTS also stands for exceptional value compared to its competition in the sports car segment.”
