Hereto a great information package on the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series, on video, narrated over by someone who sounds like a nice lady. Stats on the SL65 AMG Black Series are all over WCF but it's always nice to recap on where exactly everything is at any point in time. Follow closely then.

SL65 AMG Black Series is bolstered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine with two turbos, making heavyweight punches worth 493kW/ 670 and 1,000Nm of torque, limited. An interesting fact is that like the legendary E55 AMG, both SL65 AMG and Black Series versions make do with a 5-speed semi-automatic gearbox, instead of Merc's latest 7-speed G-Tronic unit. The nice lady says 0 - 100km/h is dispatched in 3.8 seconds while a top speed of 320km/h is attainable, even though it also is limited at that.

The 7-speed 'box wouldn't be able to take the power.

FK! I want o hear the noise not that girl voice! usualy I dont like Merc but this...uff ...and 1 technician....YEAH RIGHT! you think we R stupid...that must be a SUPER technician...please AMG FKoff

Why is it hard to believe a single technician assembles each engine? Have you ever assembled an engine? It isn't very difficult. Even children play with puzzles, and those don't come with assembly instructions. (Minus the picture on the box.)

notice merc says "assembled" not "built" - actually building it takes many hours of robot-done work, but you can actually put the bits together in a day - i did it when i was fifteen with the help of a mechanic. installing it etc takes longer, but actually putting it together - "assembling" it - only takes a few hours

is it me or is that front really, really boring? it doesn't seem to have any design at all, except for maybe the lights which i don't like anyway. the old SL was a superb looking car from every angle - they kept the old SL rear, though, which still looks good, especially with the spoiler. to be honest, i think merc has completely dropped the ball with their design on the new range... and an auto on a track car? unless this is a new SLR, in which case it should be displayed as a GT car, surely? people diss bmw for making new niches, but i think merc should get it for screwing up the established ones

That narrator is incredibly boring. I hope Daimler doesn't consider that a promotional video for the Black, because I don't think I've ever seen such an exciting car rendered as boring as this clip managed to do.

I very much dislike this car. There's ABSOLUTELY nothing new in that car. Doesn't make you say WAW. It's a race car that has no characteristics.

I get a little semi thinking about this car...let's hope it doesn't depreciate like the other AMG products, even though it's a limited production run it'll be interesting to see what happens on the used market.
