First Official Aston Martin Rapide Image Surfaces

We've previously seen the Aston Martin Rapide go from concept to development prototypes sporting a glass roof and sitting unclad at a gas station. But the Jaguar connected folks at CAR magazine got their hands on an official computer generated rendering showing the Rapide in production trim. There are more images in their possession but of course you'll have to wait until the next issue hits news stands.

Overall, the design remains intact with only minor changes. Gone are the frotn bumper two lower outer air intakes seen on the concept in favor of just upper and lower grilles. Along the side is a new character line and the rear bumper and boot have been revised.

Starting at £130,000 (€150,000) the Rapide will be unveiled in early 2009, most likely Geneva, press launch in autumn and first deliveries to customers in early 2010.

Not as pretty as the Panamera, but still okay.

I kid, I kid.

See, now THAT is a good looking car, at least from the front. Hope it keeps up with the beautiful rear designs of all other Aston Martins...

Are you kidding? Be honest: the Panamera looks ghastly!

by odysseus | November 26, 2008 5:58 PM
omg u scared the f--- out of me!!! anyway, i really hope they decide to put the vents on the front bumper cuz it looks a little awkward, not terrible, but awkward the car looks terrific though!

by dbehmoaras | November 26, 2008 6:10 PM
OMG looks better than all other 4 door cars.

by mmr66 | November 26, 2008 4:56 PM
Looks way better than that Pain-amera shizz....

by Tuner_Mad | November 26, 2008 6:02 PM

by great_supercars255 | November 26, 2008 6:07 PM
beautiful. what was porsche thinking?!

by paula1105 | November 26, 2008 6:49 PM
That's just awesome, in terms of beauty it's the most beautiful car in the class, for now. Can't wait for the A7 :)

by RussianMafia | November 26, 2008 9:20 PM
The Panamera was thinking, "Im unstoppable as a four door sedan, craftmanship and engineering". The Rapide says, "okay so you get to the restaurant 3 minutes faster....i will leave with three models"

by Cervie599 | November 26, 2008 9:26 PM
Nah, they were thinking to make a hatch after designing the rear, but decided to make it a semi-super saloon. At least AM know where to go with this design.

by Tuner_Mad | November 26, 2008 10:06 PM
nice car, better than the Panamera.

by GRAVE | November 26, 2008 9:58 PM
Be honest, it is looking boring. And I mean looking, its "eyes" have a bored expression...

by Penner | November 26, 2008 10:04 PM
there is nothing special about astons. seen one seen them all. you can deny the fact that they all look the same. and this car will never be better than the panamera. if you say the panamera isnt perfection at it's best then you need to know more about cars.

by panamera | November 26, 2008 10:18 PM
Its ironic that you say that, since all the 911 look the same, facelifts and all that jazz. Wouldnt you think, why change a perfect design? Same reason as you 911 never changes styling.

by kevoluetion | November 27, 2008 1:24 AM
But the 911 is just the 911. its great. and shouldnt ever be changed. but aston on other hand all of its production line looks identicle.... not the car they have been making for 40 years.....if they had one that is

by panamera | November 27, 2008 10:34 AM
I have saw one photo of the panamera where it looks much better than you thing, in a blue color and big weels=it's just wonderful! AstonMartin is just boring=it's the same like the 2-door DB9, so they didn't much to do!

by giga_games | November 26, 2008 10:41 PM
This would come a close second to the Estoque for me. Both are stunning looking cars albeit in a different way. I know Im repeating what has been said before but Porsche failed with the styling on the Panamera. There is no competition.

My 4 door coupe list would be 1.Estoque 2.Rapide 3.Karma ......Panamera

by Scuderia-Paul | November 26, 2008 11:47 PM
Come on... that is WAY better looking than the Estoque. In my opinion, the Lambo is too flashy, too predictable and maybe even too american in its design. Besides, it lacks the class and elegance of the british brand.

Actually, I'd rather see luxury brands, like Bentley, getting into 'four door coupe' territory than watching real sportcar makers sticking an extra set of doors on their cars.

Yeah... a Bentley four door coupe would be just sweet!

by politz | November 27, 2008 12:05 AM
There is one thing that's awful in this car:

IT'S NOT MINE!!

Everything else - PERFECT!

by Maestro | November 27, 2008 12:58 AM
This really isnt suprising to me for 2 reasons...

1. When auto makers release "concepts" that basically is a non-road legal version of the car. (case in point, Acura TL, Merc GLK, BMW X6...)

2. It's an Aston Martin. Do they make anything besides sexy cars? NO.

by wjaprep | November 27, 2008 5:43 AM
So when do we get the Mazda Furai based car?

by Airbag | November 27, 2008 7:37 AM
Yeah I'm still waiting on that one.

by mps | November 30, 2008 6:01 PM
The best looking 4 door car ever!

by MTC | November 27, 2008 12:30 PM
This looks like a Peugot.

by PotatoEater | November 27, 2008 3:40 PM
Actually it may look a bit like the Peugeot. But the most beautiful Peugeot ever :P

by RussianMafia | November 27, 2008 9:24 PM
Who it is to beat Porsche?! Looks like Laguna Coupe, but not so refined - hahahahahaaaa!

by alessandro | November 29, 2008 10:53 AM
so what if it's similiar to other astons? they're all pure beauty. no wonder aston doesn't change the look too much. it's just a personal choice whether you like porsche's or aston's looks best. still, i don't understand why would anyone like the panamera better than THIS hot thing.
