Kia Sorento Spied Inside & Out

Seen here are the first pictures of the upcoming Kia Sorento interior. Exterior shots have already appeared in different guises and WCF covered them as usual. From these pictures it looks like a slight improvement in both design and layout and texture feel.

Sorento is currently testing for a 2010 world debut and will include same 2.4-litre and 3.3-litre V6 engines. A reworked 3.8-litre V6 mated to a 6-speed automatic may join later. Diesel options will be available in certain markets around the world.

The big Kia will benefit from its parent's relationship with Hyundai as it gets larger and gains a third-row seating arrangement. Although not quite up to BMW X3 or Audi Q5 quality standards yet, in size the Sorento would be able to match the Teutons and probably beat them as a total value proposition.

Production begins in 2009 at Kia's plant in West Point, Georgia, USA.

Hope they don't play too safe, as they did with the Borrego/Mohave. The current Sorento is an elegant - though bland - design... and Kia has somehow managed to give me high expectations on their new entries, so they'd better not screw that all up with some boring blocky design.
