Spectacular happening on Ascension Day

In a spectacular happening on May 20th (Ascension Day) the high wire artiste Johann Traber will climb the Stuttgart television tower with a smart roadster. The smart roadster will drive up to a height of approximately 100 metres along two parallel steel ropes fixed below the restaurant area. The journey will start around 300 metres away from the television tower. With this happening the organiser of the event, the marketing agency for the state of Baden-Württemberg, is delivering impressive proof of its slogan "We can do everything. Except speak High German." A smart roadster rally will take place on the fringes of the event, which will be organised by the south-west broadcasting corporation (Südwestrundfunk), the owner of the television tower, together with further partners. A large number of smart customers from Germany and abroad are expected to attend the event. The organisers anticipate around 30,000 spectators. The Traber high wire artistes are world-famous for spectacular stunt shows. Their shows to date have included the legendary turn of the millennium show on a tightrope at the Brandenburg Gate, or the crossing of the Grand Canyon in the USA on a tightrope.
